REGULAR MEETING OF THE

CITY OF ALAMEDA PLANNING BOARD

MONDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2024

 

1.                     ROLL CALL   

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

* Members of the public can participate in person or remotely via Zoom.   

 

Present: Board Members Hom (Acting President), Saheba, Wang and Tsou.

Absent: President Cisneros, Vice President Ariza, Board Members Ruiz

4-A 2024-4482 - Draft Meeting Minutes - September 23, 2024

Steve Buckley, Planning Services Manager, said there were a few typos he would fix.

 

Board Member Hom asked (*2:43) for public comment on the minutes.

 

There were no speakers.

 

Board Member Saheba made a motion (*2:57) to approve the September 23rd, 2024, minutes with the mentioned corrections and Board Member Tsou seconded the motion. A vote was taken, and the motion passed 4-0, with 3 absences.

 

5.                     REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS

5-A 2024-4481

PLN24-0494 - 1109 Chestnut Street - Planned Development Amendment to Extend the Term of the Existing Approval. Applicant: St. Joseph’s Community. Public hearing to review a request to extend the term of the St. Joseph Community Master Plan Planned Development Permit, PD-98-01, as amended by Resolution PB-09-22. The project is exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15162 based on the prior Negative Declaration and no substantial change in circumstances, in the project, or new information.

 

Manager Buckley introduced (*4:01) this item and gave the presentation.

The applicant (*16:49) was also available for questions and gave comments.

 

Public Comment for item 5A

 

Unnamed Speaker (*19:51) had questions about closure times and asked for clarification on what part of the street the city had abandoned.

 

Manager Buckley provided clarification.

Board Member Saheba made a motion (*37:34) of approval for this resolution with the addition of the comment to grant extensions as necessary. Board Member Wang seconded the motion, and the motion passed 4-0, with 3 absences.

Board Member Saheba asked (*40:39) staff for an update from the Radium Performing Art Subcommittee.

 

Brian McGuire, Planner II, gave an update (*41:02) about a future study session for the board.

None.

 

9.                     ADJOURNMENT

 

Acting President Hom adjourned the meeting at 7:46 p.m.
