EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On October 15, 2019, the City Council awarded a contract to Garland/DBS, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $270,381 for the cleaning and waterproofing of the exterior walls of the City Hall building. The contractor successfully completed the work to the satisfaction of Public Works Department, and the project is ready for acceptance.
BACKGROUND
The work completed on this project included preparation, rinsing, cleaning, and power washing the exterior walls of City Hall, and applying sealant to the façade of the building preserving it for many years to come.
DISCUSSION
On October 15, 2019, the City Council awarded a contract in the amount of $270,381, including contingencies, to Garland/DBS, Inc. The project has been completed and is acceptable to the Public Works Department. The final project cost is $270,381.
ALTERNATIVES
• Accept the work for City Hall exterior walls waterproofing restoration project.
• Do not accept the work for the City Hall exterior walls waterproofing restoration project.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The project is budgeted in the Public Works Department’s Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) City Buildings, Project No. 91609706. The monies are included in the Facilities Replacement Fund (Fund 706). There is no impact to the General Fund.
MUNICIPAL CODE/POLICY DOCUMENT CROSS REFERENCE
This action does not affect the Alameda Municipal Code.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), this project is Categorically Exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(c), Existing Facilities.
