REGULAR MEETING OF THE

CITY OF ALAMEDA HISTORICAL ADVISORY BOARD

THURSDAY, JUNE 4, 2026

 

1.                           ROLL CALL     

        

Present: Chair Hernandez and Board Members Bevan, Crotty and Brito.

Absent: None

 

Chair Hernandez reminded (*0:30) everyone about the California Penale Code on rules of conduct at public hearings.

 

2.                     NON-AGENDA PUBLIC COMMENT

 

None

 

3.                     MINUTES

 

3-A 2026-6074 - Approve Draft Meeting Minutes - March 5, 2026

Board Member Bevan made a motion (*1:59) to accept the March 5, 2026, meeting minutes. Board Member Brito seconded the motion and the motion passed 4-0.

 

4.                     REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS

 

4-A 2026-6075 - Study Session on the Future Development of the Main Street Neighborhood North Area in Alameda Point. In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), this study session is categorically exempt from further environmental review pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15262 (Feasibility and Planning Studies)

 

Nicole Franklin, Base Reuse Manager, introduced the item and gave a presentation (*2:22).

Abby Thorne-Lyamn, Director of Base Reuse and Economic Development and Interim Director Planning Building and Transportation, was available for questions and gave comment.

Action for Item 4-A

 

Board clarifying questions and discussion start the 15:25 minute mark in the video.

 

 

This was a study session, and no formal action was taken.

 

 

5.                     BOARD COMMUNICATIONS

 

Board Member Bevan discussed (*1:26:23) a recent visit he had made to the Alameda Naval Museum and what an important resource it was for Alameda. He also took a moment to acknowledge the recent passing of Chris Buckley, someone who was passionate for preservation.

 

6.                      STAFF COMMUNICATIONS

Chair Hernandez adjourned the meeting at 8:28 pm
