SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA PLANNING BOARD
MONDAY, JANUARY 27, 2025
1. ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
* Members of the public can participate in person or remotely via Zoom.
Present: President Cisneros, Vice President Ariza, Board Members Ruiz, Hom, Saheba, Wang and Tsou.

There were no public comments on the Consent Calendar.
Board Member Ruiz made a motion (*1:24) to approve the Consent Calendar and Vice President Ariza seconded the motion. A vote was taken and the motion passed 7-0.
5. REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS
5-A 2025-4699
Review and Comment on the Urban Forest Plan and Implementation.
Steve Buckley, Planning Services Manager, introduced (*2:06) this item and Danielle Mieler, Sustainability & Resilience Manager, and consultants gave the presentation, via Zoom.

Public Comment for item 5A
Irene Dieter (*33:30) discussed how this plan was very high level and wanted to see something more on how this plan would be implemented. She suggested a section that had schedules and project reports. She also gave suggestions on some simple ideas that could be implemented quickly.
Betsy Mathieson, via Zoom, (* 36:47) discussed how this plan tied into the General Plan 2040 and how they overlap on transportation and climate issues. She discussed how biking everywhere was an equity issue and how being able to bike in shade was important.
Christopher Buckley, via Zoom (*39:55) discussed a letter he had sent with comments. He discussed what tree species he wanted to see maintained and best pruning practices. He went into detail and gave suggestions for the plan.

Inclusionary Housing Ordinance Update. Update on the City’s workplan to consider updates to the inclusionary housing ordinance.
