In December, the Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle carried 7,692 passengers and 1,934 bicycles. Compared to December 2024, this represented a 19% overall increase in ridership. The winter schedule, which includes Tuesday service but not extended weekend hours, is in effect until early March. Since launching in July 2024, Woodstock has carried over 177,000 passengers and 39,000 bicycles.
The Water Shuttle was out of service for six service days around the New Year’s holiday for a combination of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Planned maintenance included fresh antifouling paint to prevent growth on the hull, as well as a biennial Coast Guard inspection which identified several minor repairs to be completed prior to resuming service.
