C. UPDATES
Oakland Alameda Access Project
On September 26, the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) approved advancing the Oakland Alameda Access Project to construction, with direction to work with the City of Alameda, City of Oakland, and AC Transit to minimize construction impacts from daytime Tube lane closures, and to return to the Alameda CTC with an update on December 5, 2024.
Neighborhood Greenways
On September 28, the City held the Pacific Ave Neighborhood Greenway Pop-up event at three stations along the street, successfully collecting input from over 200 people on the issues they see along the street and on the early draft concept plan for the Pacific Ave Neighborhood Greenway. A second workshop is being planned for December. Project webpage: <http://www.alamedaca.gov/NeighborhoodGreenways>
AC Transit Realign
On October 9, AC Transit approved the Realign Final Network Plan for spring 2025 implementation, with key changes affecting Alameda service: Line 20’s proposed West End and Alameda Point extension was removed, and Line 19 will now serve these areas with 60-minute headways. While City staff preferred the Line 20 option, they will continue working with AC Transit and the Alameda TMA to enhance service to Alameda Point and the Northern Waterfront, with AC Transit open to future adjustments to Line 19 if needed. The City’s public comment was included in the agenda packet: <https://actransit.legistar.com/gateway.aspx?m=l&id=/matter.aspx?key=6799>
Clement Improvement Project & Cross Alameda Trail
This project is fully constructed, bringing the Cross Alameda Trail to 90% completion. The City hosted a ribbon cutting event on October 29.
Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle
The Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle Celebration Event was held on November 9, celebrating 3 months of successful service with more than 34,000 riders and 7,400 bikes. On November 6, a new schedule launched with expanded service and 52 more trips each week. Project webpage: <http://www.watershuttle.org/>
