EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On March 3, 2020, City Council awarded an agreement to Mountain Cascade Inc. for construction of the Group 4 Sewer Pump Station Renovations for Reliability and Safety Improvements Project, No. P.W. 08-17-37 (Public Works C22000). The scope of work included rehabilitation of existing structural facilities, construction of new wet wells and manholes, replacement of force and gravity mains, replacement of pumps, piping, valves, electrical equipment, control panels and the installation of stand-by generators.
The agreement improvements are complete in accordance with project plans and specifications at a total cost of $5,025,627.93. Staff recommends City Council accept the work.
BACKGROUND
The City of Alameda's (City) sanitary sewer system has over 40 pump stations. The Group 4 pump station project prioritized improvements at seven pump stations based on condition assessment, consequence of sewer system overflows (SSOs), and reliability and safety. The scope of work included rehabilitation of existing structural facilities, construction of new wet wells and manholes, replacement of force and gravity mains, replacement of pumps, piping, valves, electrical equipment, control panels and the installation of stand-by generators.
