EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This is an informational report to City Council to publically announce an Open Government Commission (OGC) appointment being made by Councilmember Herrera Spencer.
BACKGROUND
Pursuant to Alameda Municipal Code (AMC) Section 2-22.2(b), each City Councilmember is to appoint one member to the OGC for a term that runs concurrent with the City Councilmember’s term. Appointments to the OGC do not require confirmation by the City Council. Accordingly, this report is submitted for informational purposes only.
DISCUSSION
Councilmember Herrera Spencer’s appointee on the Open Government Commission has resigned and she is appointing Brenden Sullivan.
ALTERNATIVES
This report is submitted for informational purposes only. There is no action for City Council to take, so alternatives do not exist.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds have not been allocated for this activity. The City Attorney and City Clerk offices provide OGC support using existing personnel accounted for in the City’s General Fund Budget (Fund 100).

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This action does not constitute a “project” as defined in California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15378 and therefore no further CEQA analysis is required.

There are no identifiable climate impacts or climate action opportunities associated with the subject of this report.
RECOMMENDATION
Accept report on the appointment of an Open Government Commission member.
