EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Each year SSHRB, in collaboration with City staff, develop and present an annual work plan to the City Council for its consent. At the July 16, 2026, retreat meeting, SSHRB discussed the 2026-27 workplan with special attention to developing SMART goals for each subcommittee to accomplish the mission and purpose of the SSHRB.
BACKGROUND
Each year SSHRB, in collaboration with City staff, develop and present an annual work plan to the City Council for its consent. Alameda Municipal Code Section 2-9 delineates that the SSHRB is to “adopt a plan for the performance of the above listed functions with advice and consent of the City Council. It is the intent of this section that the City Council and Board will meet at least once a year to review the plan” (AMC Section 2-9.4).
At the July 16, 2026, retreat meeting, SSHRB discussed the 2026-27 workplan with special attention to developing SMART goals for each subcommittee to accomplish the mission and purpose of the SSHRB. Staff consolidated these items into a comprehensive workplan that was then discussed and workshopped further in the monthly subcommittee meetings of the Domestic Violence Committee and the Belonging at Home Committee. These changes were implemented and the final draft workplan will be presented at this meeting for review and approval.
DISCUSSION
President Samantha Green will present the FY 2026-27 SSHRB Workplan.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Board review and approve the 2026-27 Workplan. If approved, the workplan will be presented to City Council on October 20th for final approval.
