EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In October 2024, the Alameda Police Department (APD) entered into a one-year trial of a software solution from Peregrine Technologies, Inc. This software solution aggregates APD's multiple different data sources into a single easy to search and utilize platform. It also enables controlled sharing of data between local and regional partners for enhanced cooperation and investigation of crime. The one-year trial was successful, and the software solution has been useful to APD. Staff recommends entering into a two-year agreement with Peregrine Technologies, Inc., for the term of January 1, 2026 through October 14, 2027. (see Exhibit 1)

BACKGROUND

APD has numerous sources of data that are generated from reports, calls for service, computer aided dispatch systems and body worn camera recordings. These include data sets from current and prior records management solutions, Laserfiche records, collision reporting solutions as well as current and prior computer aided dispatch solutions. Prior to Peregrine Technologies, searching through these records required logging into each individual system, and performing the necessary search in each individual system that needed to be queried. This was a very time-intensive and laborious process that required training staff on multiple different systems. This included having to train and search on legacy systems that are no longer actively used by APD.

DISCUSSION
