2) Refer the matter to staff to schedule as a future City Council agenda item. Concurrence that staff time will be devoted to the item does not signify approval.
3) Take dispositive action only on time sensitive legislative matters if sufficiently noticed such that the public and Council have been provided sufficient information by the published agenda, and no formal published notice of a public hearing is required.

Request City Council take dispositive action to support Proposition 36, which will be on the November, 2024 ballot and is a bi-partisan measure to reform Proposition 47.
Supporters currently include: League of California Cities (of which Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft is a member), other cities and elected officials (e.g., Mayors of San Francisco, San Jose, Fremont and Dublin and Councilmembers from across the State, including myself), business groups (e.g., Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, Oakland Latino Chamber of Commerce, California Small Business Association), trade associations (e.g., California Grocers Association and California Retailers Association), and public safety leaders [e.g., California District Attorneys Association, California Peace Officers Association, and California Police Chiefs Association (of which Alameda Police Chief Nishant Joshi belongs)]; and Alameda City Attorney, Yibin Shen. https://voteyesprop36.com/
