Body
To: Honorable President Scott Means and Members of the Social Service Human Relations Board
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City of Alameda Municipal Code (AMC) states that one of the duties of SSHRB is to adopt a plan for the performance of its delineated functions “with advice and consent of the City Council” (AMC 2-9.4f). It is recommended that the SSHRB evaluate their progress on each year’s corresponding workplan goals.
BACKGROUND
The City of Alameda Municipal Code (AMC) states that one of the duties of SSHRB is to adopt a plan for the performance of its delineated functions “with advice and consent of the City Council” (AMC 2-9.4f). This is done to enable SSHRB to fulfill its charter to “create an environment which will encourage and bring about mutual understanding, respect and good will among groups of people in the community and to improve social services in the community” (AMC 2-9.1). Therefore, each fiscal year the SSHRB meets to review and adopt a workplan.
At the March 20, 2025, SSHRB regular meeting, Board members voted on and approved their 2025-26 workplan. The workplan was then presented to City Council on May 6, 2025, and received approval. It is recommended that the SSHRB evaluate their progress on each year’s corresponding workplan goals.
DISCUSSION
It is recommended that the SSHRB discuss and evaluate their progress on this year’s workplan goals.
