BACKGROUND
On June 7, 2002, the City Council established Maintenance Assessment District 01-1. The purpose of this assessment district is to provide maintenance for the City park, sidewalks, and landscaping in the Marina Cove development.
To levy next fiscal year's assessments, the City is required to follow a prescribed legal process. This annual process began on February 18, 2014, with the City's appointment of an engineer and an attorney for the assessment district. By adopting this resolution, the City Council will preliminarily approve the annual report declaring the City's intention to order the levy and provide notice of the public hearing on June 17, 2014. After the hearing, the City Council will consider approval of the assessments for the following year.
The resolution is required to be published once in a local paper with a minimum of ten days between the first notice of publication of the resolution and the public hearing.
DISCUSSION
This assessment district funds the maintenance of street trees, medians, sidewalks, pathways, irrigation, lighting, and the associated utilities.
