Re: (1) Approve an Agreement with Lake Assault Boats, LLC for the Acquisition of One Marine Patrol Boat and Trailer for $185,235 plus the City's payment of applicable sale tax for a total aggregate amount not to exceed $202,832.33;

BACKGROUND

The Police Department purchased a patrol boat in 2000 after entering into a grant agreement with the State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW). The terms and conditions of that contract were to remain in effect for 15 years starting June 1, 1999. The patrol boat has been utilized to patrol Alameda waterways for the past 15 years and the Police Department has successfully completed the terms of this contract. Costs to maintain the boat have increased significantly as the boat has sustained unrepairable damage to the hull.
