Since the last regularly scheduled Planning Board Meeting, the Zoning Administrator or Planning staff has or will take action on the following applications.
 
Zoning Administrator Hearing
 
May 5, 2015
 
PLN15-0157 - 623 Central Ave - Variance - Applicant: Geoffrey and Anita Burnaford. A public hearing to consider a Variance to the landscaping requirements for unenclosed parking as required by Alameda Municipal Code (AMC) Section 30-7.10.  The project site is located in the R-4 (Neighborhood Residential) Zoning District.  The project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15305.
 
PLN15-0104 - 2900 Main St. - Use Permit - Applicant: Pacific Car Rental. A public hearing to consider an application for a Use Permit to operate a car rental business at 2900 Main Street.  Cars will be stored in both and outdoor area and inside an existing storage building.  Cars will be transported to and from storage areas to the existing office building on-site for delivery to the customer and after the customer returns the car.  The project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301.

PLN15-0140 2501 Otis Drive (Action Date 5-12-15)  
 
The project consists of: the demolition of an existing 462 square foot non-historic detached garage; construction of a 410 square foot covered carport; and construction of a 612 square foot addition to the main house.  The proposed covered carport will be connected to the main house by two 50 square foot trellises.  The roof material for the covered carport will be a translucent polycarbonate canopy. The property is located in the R-1 (One-Family Residence) Zoning District.
 
 
 
RECOMMENDATION:
 
Staff recommends that the Planning Board accept this report.
