BACKGROUND
On July 1, 2014, the City Council adopted plans and specifications and authorized a call for bids for the repair of concrete sidewalk, curb, gutter, driveway, and minor street patching, FY14-15, Phase 15, No. P.W. 04-15-08. On September 2, 2014, the City Council awarded a construction contract in the amount of $712,732, including contingencies, to Rosas Brothers Construction for the project. On February 3, 2015, the City Council awarded an amendment in the amount of $450,000, including contingencies, for a total contract amount of $1,162,732.
DISCUSSION
The improvements under the contract have been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications and is acceptable to the Public Works Department. Completed work includes approximately 106,647.5 square feet of sidewalk replaced, 10,208 square feet of 4" driveway replaced, 1,517 square feet of 6" driveway replaced, 2,012 linear feet of curb replaced, 913.5 square feet of gutter replaced, 10,810 linear feet saw cut, 3,072 square feet of Asphalt Concrete Pavement laid, and four tree stumps ground and removed. The final contract cost for Rosas Brothers Construction, including authorized extra work orders, was $1,124,408.09.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The project is budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program (Project No. 9820215), with monies allocated from Measure B (Fund 215) and from the FY14-15 General Fund Surplus (Fund 001) by Resolution 14990. The Rosas Brother...
