Board and Commission Appointment Process Reform
Request that the City Council direct the appropriate City Staff to draft and return to the City Council a review of the City’s processes, deadlines, and charter requirements for appointments to city boards and commissions, with primary focus on the Planning Board and Rent Review Advisory Committee.
Included in this review should be a summary of methods used by other East Bay cities in making appointments to boards and commissions as well as possible recommendations to the City Council regarding options for reforming Alameda’s process and making it more transparent.
