BACKGROUND

On May 20, 2014, the City Council adopted plans and specifications and authorized a call for bids for Cyclic Sewer Rehabilitation Project, Phase 11, No. P.W. 06-13-16. On September 2, 2014, the City Council awarded a contract in the amount of $4,583,938, including contingencies, to Ranger Pipeline, Inc. for the project. The project included rehabilitation of approximately 24,736.5 linear feet of existing sanitary sewer pipeline, 1,081,71 tons of asphalt concrete, 4,137.35 square feet of sidewalk, 279 cleanouts, 30 manholes, and other associated work along the following streets:

* Pacific Avenue, between Main and Fourth Streets
* Webster Street, between Pacific and Buena Vista Avenues
* Stewart Court
* Eagle Avenue, between Chapin and Wood Streets
* Pacific Avenue, between Chapin and Wood Streets
* Chapin Street
* Powers Court
* Lincoln Avenue, between Sherman and Stanton Streets
* Lincoln Avenue, between Paru and Grand Streets
* Hibbard Street, between Lincoln and Eagle Avenues
* St. Charles Street, between San Antonio Avenue and lagoon
* Bay Street, between Central Avenue and lagoon
* Sherman Street, between San Antonio Avenue and lagoon
* Paru Street, between Alameda and Clinton Avenues
* Peach Street, between Madison and Washington Streets
* Waterton Street
* Mound Street, between Waterton Street and Otis Drive.

DISCUSSION

The project is complete in accordance with the plans and specifications, and is acceptable to the Public Works Department. The final cost for this contract, after retention is paid, is $3,958,310.66.
