Request that the City Council direct the appropriate City Staff to provide the City Council with a report on the feasibility of including the city of Alameda in the service area for the Bay Area Bike Share program.

(By way of background: the Metropolitan Transportation Commission recently contracted with a company to operate the Bay Area Bike Share program, and expand it from approximately 700 bicycles to approximately 7,000 bicycles. Currently, Alameda is not part of the proposed service area; however, the proposed service area does include cities like Oakland, Emeryville, and Berkeley.)
