Brief description of the subject to be printed on the agenda, sufficient to inform the City Council and public of the nature of the referral:
Direct City Manager to prepare analysis and recommendations with regard to reviving dormant Airport Operations Committee (AOC), so as to have an Alameda-based platform to especially address (though not exclusively) impacts stemming from Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) “NextGen” airspace system.
Given the individual and collective expertise held by previous members of the past AOC, given the complex nature of the issue at hand (e.g. FAA rules, airport operation procedures, aircraft engineering, etc.), and given the stakes involved in the matter of “NextGen”, Members Daysog and Oddie also request recommendations on member composition of a revived AOC.
