Re: Certificate of Approvals Recent Actions and Decisions
On April 11, 2016, Staff made a decision to approve the following Certificate of Approval:
PLN16-0160 918 Santa Clara Avenue
The project consists of removing a Coast Live Oak tree that is in danger of falling due to the lack of root crown flare on the west side of the tree. This indicates there are either very small or no structural roots to keep the tree from collapsing. Per a certified arborists report, the tree poses a risk to people and property and should be removed. Per Alameda Municipal Code (AMC) Section 13-21.7, removal of protected trees, which includes Coast Live Oaks, requires the issuance of a Certificate of Approval prior to removal.
