ELECTION OF OFFICERS

The SSHRB Rules and Procedures specify that the Board shall have a President and Vice-President, elected by the Board, to serve for one-year terms and that elections shall occur at the first meeting after July 1, in which the membership is fully constituted. The Rules and Procedures also state that nominations shall be taken from the floor and that the election shall be held at the next meeting.

The descriptions of the role of President and Vice President are outlined in the SSHRB Rules and Procedures and are included below:

President:   Preside at all meetings of the Board, call special meetings, appoint committees, and perform other proper duties of a presiding officer.  Except as otherwise authorized by the Board, the President shall sign all correspondence, reports, and other instruments approved by the Board.

Vice President:  Perform the duties of the President in the absence or incapacity of the President; and in the case of the resignation or other permanent absence of the President, the Vice President shall perform such duties as are imposed on the President until such time as the Board shall select a new President.

RECOMMENDATIONIt is recommended that Vice-President Williams be elected as President and Member Blake be elected as Vice President, as per their nominations at the July 27, 2016 meeting.
