BACKGROUND

On September 2, 2014, the City Council awarded a competitively bid construction contract, including contingencies, to Rosas Brothers Construction for the repair of concrete sidewalk, curb, gutter, driveway, and minor street patching. In awarding the contract, the City Council authorized extensions for up to four additional years. On July 30, 2015, the City entered into the first of four possible contract extensions for a total annual contract amount of $1,162,742.

DISCUSSION

The FY 2015-16 contract has been completed and is acceptable to the Public Works Department. Approximately 106,648 square feet of sidewalk was replaced, 10,208 square feet of 4" driveway was replaced, 1,517 square feet of 6" driveway was replaced, and 2,012 linear feet of curb was replaced. The final annual contract cost for Rosas Brothers Construction, including extra work orders, is $1,162,741.42.

FINANCIAL MPACT

The project is budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program (Project No. 91601), with monies allocated from Gas Tax (Fund 211), from the General Fund (Fund 001), and Construction Improvement Tax (Fund 164).

MUNICIPAL CODE/POLICY DOCUMENT CROSS REFERENCE

This action does not affect the Municipal Code.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW

In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), this project is Categorically Exempt under the CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(c), Existing Facilities.
