COMMENDING TONY DAYSOG FOR FOURTEEN YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AS COUNCILMEMBER

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda acknowledges its appreciation for the years of service faithfully rendered by Tony Daysog as Councilmember of the City of Alameda; and

WHEREAS, Tony Daysog was first elected to the Alameda City Council on November 5, 1996 and served as a Councilmember from December 17, 1996 until December 1998; and

WHEREAS, Tony Daysog was re-elected on November 3, 1998 and served as Vice Mayor from December 1998 until December 2000 and served as Councilmember from December 2000 until December 2002; and

WHEREAS, Tony Daysog was re-elected to the Alameda City Council on November 5, 2002, and served again as Vice Mayor from December 2002 until December 2004 and served as Councilmember from December 2004 until December 2006; and

WHEREAS, Tony Daysog was re-elected to the Alameda City Council on November 6, 2012 and served from December 18, 2012 until December 20, 2016; and

WHEREAS, during his latest tenure on the City Council, Tony Daysog served on numerous regional agencies, including the League of California Cities, the Alameda- Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) Inter-agency Liaison Committee, the Airport Community Noise Management Forum and the Airport Noise Operations Committee, the latter which he was responsible for reviving so as to protect Alameda residents from the airport noise due to the Federal Aviation Association's NextGen changes; and

WHEREAS, Tony Daysog's vision and commitment to the City, and in particular Alameda's West End, played an important role in selecting a developer for Site A that will be essential to the transformation of Alameda Point into a vibrant mixed use development that focuses on job-creation and supports the use of public tr...
