Consider adoption of resolution in support of a Congressional investigation regarding the impeachment of President Donald Trump
A number of Alameda residents spoke at the Feb. 21, 2017 city council meeting expressing grave concern over Trump’s temperament, behavior, and leadership may be a threat to our democracy. These residents presented documents supporting their belief that Trump’s conflict of interest, political corruption, and direct violation of the Constitution may be sufficient grounds for impeachment (see attached Exhibit 1).
This referral requests council direct staff to adopt a resolution, using the attached draft resolution as a guide, supporting a Congressional investigation of the attached allegations.
