Re: Accept the Mastick Senior Center 2016 Annual Report

BACKGROUND

In July 1980, the Alameda Recreation and Park Department established the Mastick Senior Center (Center).  The Center is a partnership between the City of Alameda Recreation and Park Department, the Mastick Senior Center Advisory Board (MSCAB), and volunteers.  The Center provides programs and services to individuals 50 years of age and older.  The MSCAB serves as the active administrative advisory committee for the Center, advocates on issues affecting Mastick's membership, and facilitates fundraising programs to help support the Center.

Since May 2013, the Alameda Recreation and Park Department and the MSCAB have presented an Annual Report in conjunction with the acceptance of the proclamation received from the City Council in honor of Older Americans Month.  The Annual Report provides insight into the programs and services, as well as those being served by the Mastick programs.
