Re: Adoption of Resolution Approving the Final Map and Accepting the Dedications and Easements for Parcel Map 10600 (Building 40, Bladium).

BACKGROUND

The City Council has recently entered into long-term leases with options to purchase key buildings and property within strategic areas of the Adaptive Reuse sub-district of the Alameda Point zoning district (Adaptive Reuse Area), including areas along West Tower Avenue and West Monarch Street. The Bladium, a commercial recreational facility and sports complex along West Tower Avenue, has a long-term lease with an option to purchase and now desires to exercise that option to purchase the building. As a result, the City must create a legal parcel before selling the property to Bladium.

On February 21, 2017, the City Council unanimously approved Tentative Parcel Map 10600 for Building 40, the Bladium building, per City of Alameda Resolution No. 15237. The Final Map for Parcel Map 10600 consists of creating a single 6.76-acre parcel. The Final Map also includes the creation of two public right-of-ways for Saratoga Street and Seaplane North consistent with the Town Center Plan, and two designated remainder parcels. There are easements for public utilities. The Final Map is attached as Exhibit 1 and on file in the Public Works Department.

DISCUSSION
