BACKGROUND

 

The Recreation and Parks Commissioners requested that staff bring a list of long-time staff of the Alameda Recreation and Parks Department (ARPD) and efforts to recognize their work.

 

DISCUSSION

 

Exhibit 1 includes the list of all ARPD staff members, titles and length of service that have been with ARPD for five or more years.

 

Director Wooldridge and the Recreation Managers are coordinating an all-staff recognition event that will take place in July 2018, which is Parks and Recreation Month.  It is also the time of year when the most staff are available and in town.  This is anticipated to become an annual recognition event.  The Recreation and Parks Commissioners will be invited to attend and distribute certificates of service and awards.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

 

Minimal financial impact for food and awards.

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

Receive report on Alameda Recreation and Parks Department Staff Recognition.
