MINUTES OF THE SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND
ALAMEDA HEALTH CARE DISTRICT BOARD MEETING
Monday - October 30, 2017 - 4:30 P.M.
Acting Chief Zombeck convened the meeting at 4:33 p.m.
Attendees: Mayor Trish Herrera Spencer, Councilmember Jim Oddie, City Manager Jill Keimach, Acting Chief Rick Zombeck, CAO James E.T. Jackson, Board President Michael Williams, Board Member Robert Deutsch, MD, Kristen Thorson, District Clerk

The Meeting was called to order at 4:33 PM. Ms. Keimach introduced Acting Chief Zombeck to the Committee. She also informed the committee that Chief Ed Rodriguez was hired as Fire Chief for the City of Alameda (3B). Mayor Spencer joined the meeting at 4:37 PM. Mr. Jackson reviewed items, C. E. and F. referencing a PowerPoint presentation that was presented and distributed to the committee. The presentation included an update on the seismic evaluation conducted by AHS of all Alameda Health System facilities, including Alameda Hospital as well as an update on contracting noting agreements with all commercial contracts have been reached with only one outstanding, Anthem Blue Cross.
A motion was made by Councilmember Oddie to accept the minutes of June 3, 2016. Mayor Spencer seconded the motion. Motion carried. (3A)
A motion was made by Councilmember Oddie to accept the minutes of January 5, 2017. Director Deutsch seconded the motion. Motion carried. (3A)
Acting Chief Zombeck provided an overview of the Community Paramedicine Program with the City of Alameda Fire Department noting the social and financial benefits to the community, participants of the program and the hospital/system. He noted that the program was extended for one additional year, through the end of 2018. The Fire Department is needing funding to continue the program and is looking to the City of Alameda, Alameda Health System and Alameda County EMS to assist with funding for 2018.
The next meeting will be scheduled in 1st quarter of calendar year 2018.
