Re: Discussion of Alameda Point Campground Concept
BACKGROUND
The old Navy campground is bounded by the Encinal Boat Launch Facility, the San Francisco Bay Trail and the Hornet soccer field. It has been out of use since the Navy decommissioned the Alameda Naval Air Station.
DISCUSSION
Staff is interested in a discussion of whether there is community interest in renovating this area back to a modern campground and if so, what that could look like. This is envisioned as a public/private partnership so that a private partner would fund the construction, operations and maintenance of the campground with the City receiving a negotiated percent of gross revenues.

RECOMMENDATION
Discuss the Alameda Point Campground concept and provide feedback.
