EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

 

This report informs the Council of Councilmember Oddie’s appointment of Catherine Pauling to the Open Government Commission (OGC). 

 

BACKGROUND

 

Pursuant to Alameda Municipal Code Section 2-22.2(b), each Councilmember is to appoint one member to the Open Government Commission (OGC) for a term that runs concurrent with the Councilmember’s term.  Appointments to the OGC do not require confirmation by the Council.  Accordingly, this report is submitted for informational purposes only.

 

DISCUSSION

 

Councilmember Oddie’s current appointee, Mike Henneberry, has resigned from the OGC, which requires Councilmember Oddie to select another member.

 

ALTERNATIVES

 

This Report is submitted for informational purposes only.  Council is not being asked to take any action, so alternatives do not exist.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

 

Funds have not been allocated for this activity. The City Attorney and City Clerk offices provide OGC support using existing personnel accounted for in the City’s General Fund Budget (Fund 001).

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW

 

Environmental review is not required to appoint OGC Members as appointments are not projects under CEQA.

Accept the report on the OGC appointment.
