Since the last regularly scheduled Planning Board meeting, the following applications have been reviewed by staff, and public notices have been sent to solicit neighborhood input.  Decisions on these applications will be made on the dates noted below.  Staff will provide an update at the Planning Board meeting during Staff Communications if changes to the status of any project occur. 

 

Decisions become final unless a member of the public files an appeal during the 10-day appeal period immediately following the decision date, or the Planning Board or City Council call for review a Zoning Administrator or Community Development Department decision during this appeal period.  All appeals and call for reviews will be heard at a public hearing before the Planning Board.

We encourage the use of Building Eye for direct access to current Planning applications, real time status, and plan drawings:

 

1.                      Click or go to: <https://alameda.buildingeye.com/planning>

2.                      Enter project address in search box.

3.                      Click on the Map Marker (i.e. dot on the map) to display the project summary sidebar. 

4.                      To view the project file, click on the “More details” button.  A new window will appear.

5.                      In the new window that opens, click on “Record Info” tab and then click “Project Documents” in the drop down menu.  A list of project documents will display.

2824 Marina Drive, PLN20-0110 (Action Date 4-20-20)

 

DESIGN REVIEW - The project consists of constructing an approximately 640 square foot addition to the first and second floors of a                      split level, single family home.  The existing single family home is 1,310 square feet and will be increased to a total of 1,950 square feet.  All new materials will match the existing materials on the home. General Plan: Low-Density Residential Zoning: R-1 (One-Family Residence) Zoning District. 1522 Pearl Street, PLN20-0125 (Action Date 4-20-20)

 

DESIGN REVIEW - The project consists of the reconfiguration of a portion of the roof at the front entry, converting and existing hipped roof with a gabled roof that will match the existing architecture of the building.  The reconfiguration will increase the habitable space of the existing second floor by 47 square feet.  The property is on the City’s Historic Building Study List with an “S” designation.  General Plan: Low-Density Residential. Zoning: R-1 (One-Family Residence) Zoning District. CEQA Determination: Exempt, Section 15301 - Existing Facilities. CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL - The project consists of the demolition of the one car garage that was built prior to 1942.  The property will maintain the two required off-street parking spaces in existing uncovered parking on site.  The garage is being demolished to accommodate a single story rear addition.  General Plan: Low-Density Residential. Zoning: R-1 (One-Family Residence) Zoning District. CEQA Determination: Exempt, Section 15303 - Small Structures. DESIGN REVIEW - The project consists of exterior modifications to facilitate the conversion of an existing office building to a single-family home.  The project includes new windows and doors, architectural features, and landscaping consistent with the original Mediterranean architecture of the existing building. The property is listed on the Historical Building Study List with an “E” designation. General Plan: Low-Density Residential. Zoning: R-1 (One-Family Residence) Zoning District.
