EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On April 27, 2020, the Planning Board approved eleven street names for the streets within the approved Alameda Landing Waterfront Residential Development. After the approval, staff received a comment from a member of the public who was concerned that one of the street names, Portola Plumas Lane, may cause confusion with the existing Portola Avenue. The applicant agrees to replace Portola Plumas Lane with Halway Lane. The ten other street names approved on April 27th remain the same.

BACKGROUND

The City Council Street Naming Policy assigns responsibility to the Historical Advisory Board (HAB) to maintain a list of names to be used for City streets and facilities. The Planning Board is then responsible for applying the names for new streets as part of new development.

In 2019, the Planning Board approved the Development Plan and Design Review for the Alameda Landing Waterfront Residential Development located at 2800 Fifth Street. The approved residential buildings are now going through building permit plan review where the individual homes will receive address assignments based on the eleven street names proposed in the street names plan attached as Exhibit 1.
