Since the last regularly scheduled Planning Board meeting, the following applications have been reviewed by staff, and public notices have been sent to solicit neighborhood input.  Decisions on these applications will be made on the dates noted below.  Staff will provide an update at the Planning Board meeting during Staff Communications if changes to the status of any project occur. 

 

Decisions become final unless a member of the public files an appeal during the 10-day appeal period immediately following the decision date, or the Planning Board or City Council call for review a Zoning Administrator or Community Development Department decision during this appeal period.  All appeals and call for reviews will be heard at a public hearing before the Planning Board.

We encourage the use of Building Eye for direct access to current Planning applications, real time status, and plan drawings:

 

1.                      Click or go to: <https://alameda.buildingeye.com/planning>

2.                      Enter project address in search box.

3.                      Click on the Map Marker (i.e. dot on the map) to display the project summary sidebar. 

4.                      To view the project file, click on the “More details” button.  A new window will appear.

5.                      In the new window that opens, click on “Record Info” tab and then click “Project Documents” in the drop down menu.  A list of project documents will display.

Planning, Building and Transportation Department Decisions

 

September 24, 2020

 

2854 Jackson Street, PLN20-0346 (Action Date 10-5-2020)

 

The project consists of Design Review for the removal of an existing 120 square foot rear addition and construction of an approximately 130 square foot rear two-story addition at an existing two-story home.  The addition is for a new stair to provide interior access to the basement. The removal and replacement of the two-story rear addition expands the building footprint by 10 sq. ft. The nonconforming basement will be remodeled as habitable space for 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and family room. The first floor will be partially remodeled for the new stair. All new materials and windows will be consistent with the original architecture of the home. General Plan: Low Density Residential. Zoning District, R-1 One-Family Residence. 2416 Lincoln Ave, PLN20-0160 (Action Date 10-5-2020)

 

The project consists of Certificate of Approval for the removal of a five-car garage built prior to 1942 and Design Review for exterior modifications to an existing two story mixed use building and associated site improvements.  A 1,134 square foot two-story previous addition will be demolished.  The space occupied by the existing garage and addition will be replaced with five surface parking spaces with associated landscaping and fencing. General Plan: Community Commercial Zoning: C-C-T Community Commercial, Theatre Combining Zoning District.  CEQA Determination: Exempt, Section 15301 - Existing Facilities. 1150 Park Avenue, PLN20-0347 (Action Date 10-5-2020)

 

The projects consists of Design Review for the removal of two rear decks and stairs to the second story, and replacement with two modified decks without stairs to the second story. The project also includes removal, relocation and addition of windows at the rear and sides of the building. Interior remodeling is also proposed. General Plan: Medium-Density Residential Zoning: R-4 Neighborhood Residential District.  CEQA Determination: Exempt, Section 15301 - Existing Facilities. Historical Buildings Study List: ‘H’. RECOMMENDATION:
