EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Public Works Maintenance Service Center (MSC) building located at 1616 Fortmann Way was designed and constructed in 1984. Built specifically to serve the operations of Public Works' maintenance service staff, equipment, and vehicles, the building has had routine maintenance and upkeep, but had not been remodeled or renovated in nearly 40 years. This project provided much needed improvements and design upgrades to: the men's locker room/restroom and shower; the women's locker room/restroom; the gender-neutral restroom; and the employee lunchroom and hallway kitchenette. These spaces and amenities now meet or exceed current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and have improved overall usability. The improvements executed under the subject contract are complete and acceptable to staff. Staff is now recommending that the City Council accept the work.
