EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Staff is recommending that City Council designate Community Development Director, Lisa Maxwell, Assistant City Attorney, Len Aslanian, and Assistant Community Development Director, Nanette Mocanu, as the real property negotiators for 950 West Tower Avenue, Alameda (Premises), which will allow them to meet with City Council in closed session to discuss price and terms related to occupancy of the Premises in a manner compliant with all applicable laws (including the Surplus Lands Act) and to represent the City of Alameda (City) in negotiations with a public or private party.

BACKGROUND

StopWaste is a public agency responsible for helping Alameda County's businesses, residents, and schools waste less, recycle properly and efficiently use water, energy, and other resources. It is governed jointly by three boards, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, the Alameda County Source Reduction and Recycling Board, and the Energy Council.
