Body

To: Honorable President Sarah Lewis and Members of the Social Service Human Relations Board

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

At the April 28, 2022 meeting, the Social Service Human Relations Board (SSHRB) decided to create a regular agenda item to track the Homelessness Strategic Plan and to work on homelessness related issues. This item is to further discuss these issues.

BACKGROUND

In October 2021, the Alameda City Council approved the Road Home: A Five-Year Plan to Prevent and Respond to Homelessness in Alameda (Homelessness Strategic Plan). At the April 28, 2022 meeting, SSHRB decided to create a regular agenda item to track the Homelessness Strategic Plan and to work on homelessness related issues.

Strategy 3.1 of the Homelessness Strategic Plan is to engage the community on the regional crisis of homelessness, including the Action Step 3.1a to design an ongoing education and participation campaign for Alameda residents, employees, and businesses.

Discussion

This item is for discussion purposes only. SSHRB will discuss its role and workload related to the Homelessness Strategic Plan.
