EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Staff is recommending that City Council designate Interim City Manager, Dirk Brazil, Community Development Director, Lisa Maxwell, Assistant City Attorney, Len Aslanian, and Assistant Community Development Director, Nanette Mocanu, as the real property negotiators for Building 360, located at 1900 Skyhawk Street, Alameda, which will allow them to meet with City Council in closed session to discuss terms related to occupancy of these properties in a manner compliant with all applicable laws (including the Surplus Lands Act) and to represent the City of Alameda (City) in negotiations with a public or private party.

BACKGROUND

Astra Space, Inc. (Tenant) is a tenant at Alameda Point located in Building 360 (Premises). Tenant currently licenses the building and wishes to lease the building. Staff is seeking City Council direction regarding price and terms for the lease.

Staff is recommending that City Council designate Interim City Manager Dirk Brazil, Community Development Director Lisa Maxwell, Assistant City Attorney Len Aslanian, and Assistant Community Development Director Nanette Mocanu, as the real property negotiators for Building 360, located at 1900 Skyhawk Street, Alameda which will allow them to meet with City Council in closed session to discuss terms for these properties in a manner compliant with all applicable laws and to represent the City in negotiations with a public or private party.
