Re: Review and Approve Tennis and Pickleball Court Rules
BACKGROUND
The posted rules for all Alameda Recreation and Parks Department (ARPD) tennis courts, including those at Washington, Krusi, Leydecker and Franklin Parks, have not been updated in ten or more years.
Staff reviewed court rules from San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, city of Pleasanton, City of Walnut Creek, Hayward Area Recreation and Park Department and others to develop draft rules. Staff then met with representatives from the Alameda Tennis Coalition to seek feedback on the draft rules. Exhibit 1 is the Tennis Court Rules that are the result of this effort.
The Pickleball court rules, Exhibit 2, for the facility at Lincoln Park were reviewed and updated as part of this effort as well. The Pickleball and Tennis Court rules were aligned and any differences reflect the specifics of that sport.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact from approving new Court Rules.
