BACKGROUND
This item is a regularly occurring agenda item to discuss Workgroup Reports.
DISCUSSION
Currently, SSHRB has three workgroups:
1. The Domestic Violence Task Force-the last quarterly Task Force meeting was held on November 10, 2022 (Buchholz/Wolf).
2. Human Relations/Alamedans Together Against Hate (Yamashiro-Omi/Bryant).
Since the December 1, 2022 SSHRB meeting, Board member Bryant forwarded to staff information from “Hate-Free Together Campaign” launched in November 2022 by UC Davis, City of Davis, and Yolo County (see https://www.ucdavis.edu/news/uc-davis-city-county-launch-hate-free-together-campaign <https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/1KBnCERmGBC3gppphNRGM0?domain=ucdavis.edu>). SSHRB may consider developing a similar community engagement campaign as part of its 2023 Work Plan (see Exhibits 1 and 2).
As mentioned at the December 1, 2022 SSHRB meeting, SSHRB may also consider as part of its 2023 Work Plan recommending to the City Council revisions and/or recommitment to the 1997 City resolution declaring Alameda a hate-free city (see Exhibit 3).
3. SSHRB Infrastructure (Lewis/Means)-Discuss 2023 priorities in more detail at the January meeting.
