EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This item is a regularly occurring agenda item to discuss the City of Alameda’s Homeless Services. The Social Service Human Relations Board (SSHRB) oversees the City’s social services programs, including those designed to alleviate homelessness in Alameda and helping individuals and families currently experiencing homelessness.
BACKGROUND
This item is a regularly occurring agenda item to discuss the City of Alameda’s Homeless Services. SSHRB advises the City Council on the City’s social services programs, including those designed to alleviate homelessness in Alameda and helping individuals and families currently experiencing homelessness.
In October 2021, the Alameda City Council approved the Road Home: A Five-Year Plan to Prevent and Respond to Homelessness in Alameda. Bi-annual status reports on the progress of the Plan’s strategies were reported to SSHRB on August 25, 2022 and January 26, 2023.
DISCUSSION
This item is for discussion purposes only. At the meeting, City staff will provide a verbal status report to SSHRB on current homeless-related services, which may include but not limited to such activities as Dine and Connect, the Winter Warming Centers, status of homeless encampments, emergency supportive housing, and transitional housing, the Day Center, Safe Parking and the Road Home Strategic Plan.
