BACKGROUND
On November 12, 2019, the Planning Board held a study session and provided feedback to the applicant on the Design Review application for the 69 residential buildings that will be constructed on the site. This study session followed several prior meetings of the Planning Board in the past year that resulted in approval of a 4.5-acre Waterfront Park and Development Plan, Density Bonus, and Tentative Map for 357 residential units, 5,000 square feet of commercial space, internal roadways and alleys, parks and open space on the 17.2 acre site.
On November 25, 2019, the applicant submitted revised Design Review plans for the 69 residential structures based on the comments received from the Board on November 12, 2019. The revised Design Review plans are attached as Exhibit 1.
DISCUSSION
Since the November 12th Planning Board meeting, the applicant has been working with their architectural consultants to revise the Design Review plans to respond to Planning Board and staff comments. The major changes to the plans since November are described below. The three architectural building types consists of "Compass" 7-plex buildings, "Landings" stacked flats, and "Breeze" detached single-family homes.
