EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On October 16, 2018, the City Council awarded a contract to Oregon Romtec, Inc. (Romtec) in the amount of $970,613 to build and install a new recreation center at Krusi Park. On June 16, 2020, City Council authorized a Budget Amendment for $131,000 to include in the Krusi Park Recreation Center several small but critical project components, one being data and communications design and installation by Romtec. The June 16, 2020 budget amendment approved $27,998 for Romtec's additional scope. Staff is now executing the amendment so services can be rendered.
Construction of the Krusi Park renovations project is now complete and is acceptable to the Public Works Department and the Alameda Recreation and Park Department. The final project cost is $2,184,871.
BACKGROUND
The Krusi Park renovation project included a much needed new recreation building and miscellaneous site, utility, pedestrian pathway, and emergency vehicle access improvements. The project is primarily funded by an East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) Measure WW grant which covers both design and construction costs, with additional funding from Dwelling Unit Tax (Fund 221). On June 16, 2020 and October 6, 2020, additional funds in the amount of $131,000 (construction changes, furnishings and equipment) and $135,000 (management and inspection labor hours) were approved.
