1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL

President Biggs called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. Present were Vice President Villareal, and members Blake, Radding, and Sorensen. Absent were members Williams and Hyman.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The minutes of the regular meeting of April 23, 2015 were approved as presented.

3. AGENDA ITEMS

3.-A DEVELOP A PROCESS TO CONDUCT A SECOND HOMELESS COUNT TO GAIN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND A FULLER UNDERSTANDING OF ALAMEDA'S UNSHELTERED HOMELESS
President Biggs shared that he will present the Board's summary report of the Homeless Count conducted
By SSHRB in September 2014, to the City Council at its meeting on June 11. He added that the report
Would make the Mayor and Council aware of SSHRB's plans to conduct a second count before the end of
July.

A discussion then ensued as to the process for undertaking the second count. It was agreed that a
weekday, The third or fourth week of July, should work best for both volunteers and APD staff. Once a
tentative date has been selected, staff will check with APD, to assure that it works for their staff.

Member Blake shared that, whenever possible, it would be helpful to have a police officer or APD VIP
accompany each team. President Biggs suggested having "veterans" of the September count act as team
captains. Member Radding added that it is important to include time for a role-play exercise in the
training. Staff agreed to take an inventory of backpacks remaining from the previous count. Member
Blake volunteered to join President Biggs and member Radding on the Homeless Count Committee.
