BACKGROUND
The Human Resources Department, under governance of the Civil Service Board and City Council, is responsible for administering the City's classification and compensation systems which includes on-going evaluation of all classification specifications and salary schedules. The Information Technology Department recently requested to revise the titles of two job classifications to better reflect their professional level of work responsibilities and more appropriately align with industry standards. The proposed Resolution will retitle the two classifications of Public Safety Information Technology Systems Coordinator to Public Safety Information Technology Systems Analyst and Information Technology Systems Coordinator to Information Technology Systems Analyst through an amendment of the Alameda Management and Confidential Employees Association (MCEA) Salary Schedule.
