BACKGROUND

On May 17, 2016, the City Council awarded a contract in the amount of $436,441 to Ray's Electric for the Park Street Pedestrian Safety project. This is the final phase of the Park Street streetscape project. This final portion of the project will provide pedestrian improvements at three intersections along the vibrant Park Street business corridor through a collaborative public engagement process. The three intersections are; Park Street at Buena Vista Avenue, Park Street at Pacific Avenue, and Park Street at Lincoln Avenue/Tilden Avenue.

DISCUSSION

The City continues to be satisfied with the services provided by Ray's Electric. This additional contract amount will cover the following improvements: installation and adjustment of the utility boxes, sidewalk work and crosswalk striping at Park Street and Buena Vista Avenue and additional installation and adjustment of the utility boxes, sidewalk, curb and gutter work and crosswalk striping at Park Street and Lincoln Avenue/Tilden Way. The project will be completed by the end of May 2017. A copy of the contract and first amendment are attached as Exhibits 1 and 2.
