Consider Adopting a Resolution Supporting the Alameda Unified School District's "Alameda Teacher/Staff Retention" Measure or Alternatively, Direct Staff to Agendize a Resolution Supporting the Measure.
On November 12, 2019, the Alameda Unified School District Board of Education unanimously adopted a resolution placing the "Alameda Teacher/Staff Retention" measure on the ballot for the March 3, 2020 election (see attached). The measure proposes raising $10,500,000 annually in school funding via a seven-year parcel tax to attract and retain excellent teachers and employees, sustain strong academic programs in reading, writing, math, arts/sciences, and help counselors support struggling students.
